Chaoscope – 3D strange attractors rendering software

Chaoscope is a very interesting piece of software. This program uses complex attractors to create amazing yet random works of art based on random data and the settings you choose. There are a variety of rendering modes that affect the way the random algorithm is presented. You can adjust the angle and tweak the selected attractor to you liking and can create a wide variety of images. Once you have everything tweaked how you want it. You can then render your attractor and see the created result. When you turn on animate you can tweak different parameters and watch the attractor morph and change right before your eyes. Unfortunately the program doesn’t make creating impressive animations very easy. I have found that when you turn on animate you can use a video screen capture program to record the results as you tweak the animation. Your other option is to render each frame of the animation as you tweak it, however this can be a time consuming and tedious task. There is a batch processing option that will allow you to process a large number of files at once but it can be rather complex to use.

There is an online gallery of images that have been created using Chaoscope and they even allow users to upload their own images. Also its good to know that you own the rights to any image you create with Chaoscope. Overall this is a very fun program to play around with and you will most often end up being very impressed with the results.
